使用注意

和其他帶有無實義後綴 -st 的詞一樣，一般認為 amidst 和 amid 同義，英國和北美英語都更傾向於使用 amid，不過 amidst 在英國英語中比在美國英語中更常用。。

amidst/amid 和 amongst/among 意思相近，但有不同。Amid(st) 表示“在……之中”，“被圍繞”，且其他的東西並不突出。 Among(st) 則表示與其他東西混合在。
